installation of MMS

Installing mmsv2 on Gentoo is pretty straight-forward since it's included in the distribution. Just issue

  emerge mmsv2

I would recommend using ~x86 since 0.93 is really old. 1.0.8 will become stable soon.

USE-flags

mmsv2 can be configured and installed to your needs using the use-flags. The use flags:

sdl 

Enable SDL X11 video output

dxr3 

Enable DX3 (EM8300) video output

dvb 

Enable DVB video output

svga 

Enable SVGA video output

lirc 

Enable LIRC input

xine 

Use Xine as audio player instead of alsaplayer

debug 

Enable debug symbols
